The Shell Shack is a Hamptons inspired Custom Designed and architecturally detailed. Located at The Beaches in Catherine Hill Bay. The client brief was to maximise views, they were both Southern of the Moonee coastal bushlands and Eastern to grab a glimpse of the Pacific Ocean horizon and not to forget the cooling summer breezes. By positioning the home on the Western boundary of the splayed block gave us the ability to view past the neighbouring home to capture those ocean views and breezes and splitting the levels of the home allows it to sit elegantly on the Southern sloping block and maximizing the unique coastal Australian bushland views. With the main bedroom, WIR, and ensuite on the lower level of the home and kitchen, dining, entertaining and vast expanse of hardwood deck allow for easy living and allow for views from all spaces to overlook the custom-designed pool, spa, and landscaping. Keeping the 3 bedrooms, bathroom, living and front deck for use by visiting family and friends. Nooks created by the external wall recesses give green space off the laundry with a private utility green space and then off the Kitchen for a courtyard style space to home the raised herb garden. This timeless design encapsulated the winter Northern sunshine and summer cooling breezes to create a healthy solar passive home. With the topography falling to the south with the views, creating a design that brought the light through to the southern living rooms was a must. This was achieved with the entry and stairwell second storey fixed northern window, allowing the winter sun to spill deep into the central living space of the home both on the ground floor and rear lower split levels.
