Lan Yue ge is a soft line Contemporary home which takes full advantage of its extensive Central Coast Ocean views over Lion Island to Pittwater.

Rustic Touch used elegant lines and Chinese influence when designing this home. The use of solar passive design was complex due to the spectacular southern views.
Lan Yue ge meaning ‘Water front home that sees moon light first’. The design is simple, with the shape and layout drawing you through to the water view. Two sets of bi-fold doors lead you from the open plan Lounge through to the southern tiled patio. The open pergola has LED down lights recessed in to Recycled Hardwood beams creating a stunning evening ambiance.

On the northern side of the open plan Kitchen is a hardwood timber deck covered by a ‘Vergola’ with a bulkhead surround housing LED down lights.

The court yard is designed with the use of Chinese philosophy using, plants, stone, water and architecture to create the ambience of peace and warmth, though used in a more contemporary manor. The focus is still drawn to the view through large stacker glass doors leading into the hallway and kitchen, giving the ability to invite the outside in.

With the simple lines and uncomplicated lay out, Rustic Touch was able to meet all their clients’ requirement and more.

The home was a pleasure to design and build and the reward is the confident presence this home has, in the environment in which it sits.

Client Testimonial

We have known the team at Rustic Touch for the past 5 years, since we purchased a house on the Esplanade at Umina Beach. Our intention in buying the property was to knock down and rebuild a new house on the beach. Rustic Touch worked with us in planning, designing the house to suit our needs, and then project managing the construction process through to completion in July 2011.

In selecting the right designer/builder we had a strong preference to work with a local player who could provide a total solution. In addition, as most of the construction occurred whilst we were living overseas, we needed a party who had very strong project management and communication skills and who we were confident would be totally reliable and trust worthy.

Rustic Touch has met and in fact exceeded our expectations in all the areas of this project including:

  • Spending the time to fully understand our objectives and requirements
  • Delivering a design that fully met these objectives, and obtaining council approvals with very few modifications
  • Efficiently managing the construction process including frequent and regular communications with us throughout the process, notwithstanding the fact that we were living overseas
  • Delivering a completed project basically on time and on budget where the result speaks for itself

In all our dealings with Rustic Touch we have found them to be honest, reliable, extremely professional, highly proficient and meticulous in detail. The Rustic Touch team operates with the highest integrity and values. We would not hesitate to recommend Tony, Debra and the Rustic Touch team to other potential clients.
